The name speaks for itself. I had this tripod for about a year now. I use it for all my HDR and night photography. Its light enough for general day to day use. Its sturdy so you get no vibration is windy conditions. I love the fact that you can put this in almost any position, good for get down low to take macro photos. Its strong enough to hold my my T2i with a 70-200 lens with a rode microphone attached. The only issue I have is its a bit heavy for strapping on my back and going for biking or hiking for long periods of time. Beside that is an all around great tripod.

This is a great tripod. You get a lot of quality, and stability without breaking the bank. If I mount my 7D equipped with a 70-200mm lens on this tripod, it still feels very strong and stable. Another great feature about this tripod is how low it can get, giving you the opportunity for low perspectives. The only downfall of this tripod, which I don't personally consider much of a problem, is that it is sort of weighty. Since it isn't composed of carbon fiber, it's not very lightweight. This isn't a tripod you'd invest in if you're looking for a setup that you can travel with. It would be a pain to lug around on a trip, even if you have a sling or bag for it. It's perfectly suited for landscape photography outings, which is what I use it for. Great purchase.
All around a solid tripod. Like the previous reviewer, it has the potential to be a bit of a nuisance on long outtings. For what I need it for, it's been great. It's a bit slow to change to "low mode", but with more practice it should become easier. I have this set of legs attached to the 498rc2, which I think is an excellent ballhead for the price, and for beginners/enthusiasts/amateurs/etc (which I am). When the time comes to get a new set of legs, I'll probably go with carbon fiber.
