  • What more could you want?

Lens is super sharp at all focal lengths and apertures. VR stabilizes quickly and I`m able to handhold at slow shutter speeds. The bokeh is amazing and you can easily use this as a portrait lens. Accurately snaps to focus and the focus is always spot on. This honestly couldn't be any better: sharp, fast, great boheh. Its versatility makes it a sports, action, event and portrait lens with no rival. I thought I would miss having 300mm but this is so sharp that I`d rather crop a 200mm picture from this lens than have a soft 300mm picture from another lens.

  • Worth all the pennies! (that's 240,000 pennies)

Amazing lens, cannot believe how awesome it performs. It pretty much never leaves my camera unless I'm shooting something closer then ~10ft. When shooting portraits, the bokeh is superb, and because of the reach you don't have to get in your subjects face. I love it, and so do they for this reason. When shooting weddings I can stay "in the wings" producing photo's that look like I'm breathing down the couples necks. The only complaint I get from my subjects is that I can see nearly every pore on their face before sharpening. AF is ridiculously fast and bang on, it only hunts when the subject is too close or I'm doing something silly (trying focusing on a flat, matte, black shirt in the shade.) Paired with an SB900 and AF is always, and I mean always, bang on and nearly instantaneous. One thing I will say though, if you're planning on doing any nature photography where the subjects are small (birding) or will be distance/skiddish (bears, deer) with this lens you'll want one of the teleconverters. The TC20E-III is supposed to work perfectly with this lens, turning it into a 140-400mm f5.6/210-600mm f5.6 (FX)/(DX) lens. Mind you, even with 400mm you may still be too close to the bear :D When you read up on this lens everyone sings it's praises and it definitely deserves them.

  • It's night and day!

I read tons of reviews before buying this lens and albeit the mixed reviews, I was 80% convinced. I went to the Henry's Imaging show last month and tried the "comparable 70-200" Sigma and Tamron lenses on my Nikon D7000 and fell in love with this Nikon 70-200 F2.8 VR II. It's night and day compared to the other brands... you always get what you pay for! Super fast and super sharp even with low light! I bought this primarily to shoot under low to poor lighting conditions using no flash and it's exceeding my expectations. Focus is fast and always bang-on at any focal length. Bokeh is excellent at F2.8 and takes fantastic portrait shots racked at 85mm. I would like to add the fantastic service I got from Henry's in Brampton during and even after the sale. You guys rock! Worth every penny!

  • AMAZING!

I owned an 80-200mm f2.8 AF D lens. But while that lens was great, THIS lens, the 70-200 f2.8 VRII just blows it away! Used on a D3 this lens is simply amazing. Forget about the 'short focal length' comments, in actual use that doesn't matter. The sharpness of the photos speak for themselves.
