    • My Favorite!

This is my favorite lens along with my 105mm macro. This lens is super sharp, even wide open at f/2. Because i have a DX camera (D80) this lens ends up being about a 45mm equivelent which makes it perfect for portraits when space is limited. Whenever i shoot somebody or something large in a small room i bring this lens because it allows me to get the subject in the frame with very little distortion. The large aperture is very pleasing for portraits and the bokeh is nice and soft. One thing that might surprise you with this lens is how close you can get to a subject. I've taken pictures of insects with this lens and had people believing it was a 'macro' lens used. My only possible complaint with this lens is that it tends to be prone to lens flare. Not a big deal really. but i ordered the nikon metal lens hood for it and its on there all the time. Keeps the front of the lens safe and has eliminated the flare. This is a pretty minor issue though and is by no means a serious problem, I'm just comparing it to other lenses i have that are not as prone to flare. All in all, my favorite lens and its almost always on my camera when i don't know what im shooting because of its versatility.

I got this lens today from Henry's Canada Oshawa, you might think this is the old lens ,could not reach the high in many Nikon lenses, however if you try this lens out, you will feel this gonna be the first choice if you need a single lens without super much budget, the color of the imaging almost close the German classics. sharp, steady and most important , it's such light lens will make you feel relax when you taking pics. Good lens.
