When using a narrow DOF setting you have to be careful as you could end up with part of a person face being in focus and part blurry. However that is part of owning a lens like this. Once you get to know just how low an aperture setting you can use - the results will be excellent. Subject will stand out. Lens is one of the best built I have ever owned.....and I have owned a lot. Has a real good feel on a Canon 5D2. Excellent low light ability. Yes I recommend this lens.
