  • Flexibility for lighter cameras

I purchased this for off camera flash work. It works great with a canon flash which weighs a little over a pound. The quick release tab helps reduce the hassle of setting up, and the tripod is capable of holding the flash securely. It did not as work well with an EOS 50D and even my lightest 50 mm prime. It can hold the camera fine so long as the weight is centered over the head and legs. Tilting the head more the 10 or 20 degrees, for example to take a portrait, results in a slowly slouching camera body. I think most DSLRs will have this issue. If you plan to use this with a lighter camera, or do not plan on tilting the head too much, then it will work great. If you want more control over composition get the SLR-ZOOM legs and a ball head.
