  • Great for holding small cameras

Very useful for its intended purpose, which is holding small cameras in unusual spots, or even not so unusual, like a windowsill where a tripod cannot be used because you want the camera right near the glass so its autofocus doesn't "see" the glass. Although I got away with doing this for a small SLR, it was a really BAD IDEA as the weight of the SLR - even with a "kit" lens - can cause the Gorilla's legs to collapse, throwing the camera to the floor! The original Gorilla is just great for point-and-shoot cameras; there is now a larger model that you should use for SLRs, see http://www.henrys.com/10248-GORILLAPOD-SLR-TRIPOD.aspx.
